The Gift Of Song

The gift of song’s
a gift from God.
It makes us happy
for a while.
It opens up
our hardened hearts
to make us sigh
or smile.

And when our voices
rise on high
it’s easy to forget:
our feet are still to this earth bound.
We’re not in Heaven yet.
